A local Relay for Life team is planning to relay across Audubon County for the sixth consecutive year to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Team Fighting Mad consists of Jan Andersen, Joan Bauer and John Roberts and each year they choose to run or bike more than 20 miles to increase awareness of cancer risk factors and the importance of taking control of your own health. The baton they carry during the June 5 relay is filled with prayer papers from donors, and all that money is then donated to the American Cancer Society. If interested in sponsoring a mile or just to donate, contact Bauer at joanthmom58@yahoo.com. Audubon County’s Relay for Life was originally scheduled for June 5 but has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Organizers are working to reschedule for the fall, but a formal date has not been set.
