IDPH Identifies 341 New Cases And 12 Additional Deaths Tuesday

The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports the state’s COVID-19 case count has grown by 341 since 11 a.m. Monday, pushing the total to 15,296. The department also identified 12 additional coronavirus-related deaths, marking 367 deaths to date. Gov. Kim Reynolds highlighted some of the changes made to the state’s coronavirus.iowa.gov website during Tuesday’s press conference. In addition to cases now being reported in real time, Reynolds says the page enables Iowans to target specific counties or groups of counties and view case numbers, trendlines and more. A new Serology Testing dashboard is also available, which shows how many individuals established antibodies to the virus following an infection. As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, case numbers in the listening area stand at two in Calhoun County, six in Sac County and 11 in Audubon County. Carroll County’s total has been reduced to seven following case investigations that showed two individuals did not live within the county. Greene County has recorded 13 cases, Guthrie has grown to 40 and Crawford County remains the hotspot in the area with 394. For more information on COVID-19 in Iowa, visit coronavirus.iowa.gov.
