Over the Memorial Day weekend, Carroll County Public Health announced an additional positive COVID-19 case within the county. The total has now climbed to nine. Public Health Director, Nikki Schwering, says they are continuing to urge residents to maintain mitigation measures. “It’s important for everyone to stay home as much as possible and to practice social distancing—this simply means to stay away from groups of people, to keep a six-foot distance from other individuals and wear a mask in public if unable to maintain appropriate distance.” As of midday Monday, there were 436 new positive cases in the state of Iowa and there are currently 461 COVID-19-related deaths reported. In our region, Crawford County has climbed to 486 cases and Guthrie to 43. Sac and Greene Counties have 13 each while Audubon County is reporting 12 and Calhoun County three positive cases.
