Come join us for the 16th Annual Audubon Hoop-A-Thon for Huntington’s Disease.
This is a Free Throw shooting event for all ages and abilities to benefit medical research for Huntington’s Disease. “Shooters” get pledges and/or flat donations and stand at the foul line to shoot free throws for five minutes, trying to sink as many baskets as they can. If shooting baskets is not your thing, we can always use volunteers to help rebound and help count baskets.
We will have our silent auction running through the duration of the hoop-a-thon, as well as the bounce house and concessions.
Huntington’s Disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities and has no cure. Every child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of carrying the gene. Today, there are 30,000 symptomatic Americans and more than 200,000 at-risk of inheriting the disease.
We are always amazed and very appreciative of the continued support every year by out very generous community and surrounding communities. We are in need of volunteers, silent auction donations, food donations for concessions and monetary donations. If you are able, we would love to hear from you regarding any donation. Please contact Carrie Bauer, Nicki Brown, Sarah Asmus or Dennis Olesen if you are able to contribute, need a pledge form or have any other questions.
