The Rockwell City Fire Department is hosting the 2016 Hometown Heroes memorial ride. The ride started in 2014 to honor fallen police officer Jamie Buenting. That same year, the fire department lost one of their own, Nick Hidreth. Last year, the ride was renamed the Hometown Heroes Memorial Ride to honor both of these amazing men who were heroes in their community. Previous proceeds from the ride were used to purchase a police officer statue that is located across the street from the fire department.
