One of the top priorities Chief Brad Burke identified for the Carroll Police department was to bring the force back up closer to their full capacity of 15 officers. Today (Thursday) he announced the application process has been completed and they have selected two new officers they would like to have join the department.
He said he was not yet free to release names until all the proper credentialing and checking has been completed, but they are anticipating at least one of the new officers will be starting very soon.
Burke said they put out advertisements for the positions in a couple of national websites as well as placing local ads.
He said one of the applicants already has experience in the field while the other will require some training. This will work out well, however, Burke added in managing the schedules now and with the expected retirement early next year.
He said both officers are young men who are starting their families and are excited about making Carroll their home.
We will bring you more information on each of the new officers as it becomes available.
