The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) will be hosting Downtown Forums around the state, including one in Carroll on Wednesday, June 22. The goal of the forum is to assist communities in revitalization of their downtown areas and commercial districts, and to get area leaders engaged in discussions about how to accomplish their goals. “The exciting part about these forums is that the community and attendees get to be the speakers,” said Jim Engle, director of the Iowa Downtown Resource Center. After introductions, the community will be asked to share what is going on in their downtown district along with examples of their successes. This will be followed by presentations on how to implement new strategies and tours of the community. Registration is free for the event and can be completed by following this link. The Carroll forum will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. in the Harold Bierl Community Room at the Depot Plaza, located at 407 W. 5th Street.
