Kuemper receives five “1” rankings at State Speech

This past Saturday, February 6, students from Kuemper Catholic High School presented a total of 14 performances during the State Speech Competition held in LeMars. Of those performances five groups received a “1” rating and include the Ensemble Acting group with Kelsey Harrington and Ben Kenkel; Group Mime with Chloe Grote, Kate Lohff, McKenna Ludwig, Macy Ludwig, and Taylor Promes; the Musical Theatre group consisting of Kelsey Harrington, Ben Kenkel, Ryan Rawlings, Evan Schettler, Liz Kenkel, and Maggie Steinkamp; Group Improv with Jacque Batz, Maggie Lawler, Paige Tiefenthaler, and Madison Rial; 9^th grade Group Improv with Mara Slattery, Lauren Macke, Sarah Healy, and Ambrea Schreck; and a Short Film compiled by Evan Schettler, Reed Rawlings, Ryan Rawlings, and Jacob Schreck. All groups who received a “1” rating during the State competition do have the possibility to be chosen to perform during the All State Festival which will be held at Iowa State University later this month. Choral Reading: Maggie Lawler, Madison Rial, Paige Tiefenthaler, Michaela Voight, Maggie Steinkamp, Steph Nees, Bre Augustus, Erin Wallace, Madilyn Bauer, Jacque Batz, Liz Kenkel, Tori Bauer. Short Film: Issack Anderson, Andrew Evans, Mitch Fitzsimmons, Mitch Ludwig, Calvin McDermott, Dani Schultes, Cora Hicks, Ben Vonnahme, Jack VanErdewyk, Spencer Morabito. Improv (9th): Abby Boes, Megan Rotert, Nicole Reiser, Sami Hays.  Mime (9th): Ambrea Schreck, Sarah Healy, Abby Boes.  Readers Theatre (9th): Andrea Gehling, Sami Hays, Katelynn Irlbeck, Anna Langel, Mary Lawler, Amber Mohr, Matilda Pugh, Angela Schulte.  Coaches are: Susan Glass, Erin Tracy, Sue Murphy, Jake Gute, and Deb Gute.
