The public debate on the proposed new 16,800 square-foot, $8.95 million Carroll County jail has ramped up recently with both sides taking to local media to drive home their position. The Carroll County Supervisors, the Jail Committee and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office want to ensure that everyone has access to the details, the ability to review the schematic renderings of exactly what the addition to the west side of the Carroll County Courthouse will include as well as a chance to see how the new structure will replace the outdated current jail and bring the county back into compliance with state codes. They are offering jail tours and a presentation to any interested citizens of Carroll County, an updated schedule for which has now been released. Tours will continue right up to the date of the bond referendum vote on Tuesday, Nov. 6. The upcoming dates and times are included below. These are also posted on the Carroll County Sheriff’s Facebook page and on the Carroll Broadcasting Community Calendar.
