Lake View’s Largest Event Of The Year, The Black Hawk Lake Water Carnival, Begins Later This Week

Lake View’s largest event of the year, the annual Black Hawk Lake Summer Water Carnival, begins later this week, and the Sac County community is prepared to welcome more than 20,000 visitors during the festivities. City Administrator and one of the event’s organizers, Scott Peterson, says the fun gets started at 5 p.m. on Friday and will continue until well after dark.

Saturday’s schedule is the busiest of the three-day event and starts bright and early with Art in the Park and the Lions Club Belgian Waffle Feed at the Centennial Shelter House at 7:30 a.m. After this, Peterson says there will not be much downtime for the rest of the day.

The popular cardboard boat races get started in Town Bay at 4 p.m., followed by live music from Tami Hall at 6:30 at the west Stone Pier. The signature event of the Water Carnival, the parade of water floats, begins on the lake after dark. Sunday marks the final day of activities, and Peterson says while the schedule is still full, it is more of a relaxing day for attendees.

The full schedule for the 66th annual Black Hawk Lake Summer Water Carnival can be found included with this story on our website.
