The Manning Hausbarn-Heritage Park is hosting its annual Rib and Chili-Cook-off next weekend. Now in its third year, the fundraiser has generated more than $25,000 to help finance updates and upkeep at the buildings contained in the park. Nine chili cooks and 14 rib makers, including winners from the previous two years, are signed up to compete for the top prize in each category. The Saturday, March 7 event begins at 5 p.m. at the Hausbarn’s Konferenz Centre and includes a game of heads or tails, a silent auction and a live dessert auction. Tickets are $10 each if purchased in advance at Templeton Savings Bank, Manning Pharmacy, The Market Place or First National Bank, or $15 at the door the day of the event. Tickets include unlimited chili taste testing and four rib tickets with additional rib tickets available for $1 each. The Roten Bar Tavern will also be open throughout the evening.
