The Carroll Chamber of Commerce has announced they are hosting a gift card flash sale tomorrow (Wednesday) in an effort to help local businesses weather the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and associated closures. Beginning at 1 p.m., up to five $30 gift cards from area businesses can be purchased online from the Chamber for only $20 each. The $10 difference between the card’s value and the purchase price is provided through support from Availa Bank, Commercial Savings Bank, Iowa Savings Bank, United Bank of Iowa and Westside State Bank. The proceeds from the flash sale go to the respective businesses, and the Chamber will send the purchased cards to customers through the mail. Only 250 cards will be available and will be sold while supplies last. The link to make purchases has not been released yet, but the Chamber will be posting it to their Facebook page tomorrow (Wednesday), a link to which can be found below this story. Depending on the success of Wednesday’s flash sale, more may be offered in the future.
