Following the announcement that all three state colleges in Iowa and some private institutions will be conducting classes online following spring break, Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) has followed suit. Late Wednesday, DMACC President, Dan Ivis, detailed their efforts to support public health by outlining their plans to move a majority of their classes at all campuses to an online format. The March 16 through March 20 spring break will remain scheduled. Face-to-face classes, however, will not resume the week of March 23, allowing for self-isolation and social distancing for those who have traveled during the break. The existing online classes WILL resume on Monday, March 23. On Monday, March 30, DMACC will be delivering the majority of their classes online until further notice. Some lab-based and hands-on classes will meet as scheduled in a face-to-face format and more details on that will be released in the next several days. All campuses will remain open and services will operate as usual with the spring term ending the week of May 4, as planned. A link for all updates can be found below.
