Five large group speech teams from three local schools earned All-State nominations following their performances last weekend at the state contest. Three Carroll High School teams, who competed on Saturday, Feb. 8, were selected for All-State accolades. Two CHS group improvisation teams were chosen to perform their acts one last time at the All-State program, and CHS’ ensemble acting team, Accused of Comedy, received non-performing recognition. Two schools garnered All-State performing honors in radio news broadcasting: Kuemper Catholic’s 428 B.C. and Audubon High School’s SINK. The five groups were invited to the 2020 All-State Speech program at the Iowa State Center in Ames on Saturday, Feb. 22. The rosters for the local teams selected and the schedule for the performances planned that day can be found included with this story on our website.
