A juvenile male was killed in a shooting reported Friday night in Mapleton. The Iowa Department of Public Safety has issued a statement on the incident that occurred at approximately 9:40 p.m. Emergency personnel responded to the scene to find the deceased male subject and witnesses, all also minors. None of their names have been released. Authorities say there is no threat to the public. The Mapleton Police Department, Monona County Sheriff’s and County Attorney’s Offices and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) are investigating the shooting.
