Lake City – Jim Sorenson, 71, died Wednesday, September 25, 2019 in Mobridge, South Dakota. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Woodlawn Christian Church, Lake City with Pastor Roy Karlen officiating and burial in Lanesboro Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Lampe Funeral Home, Lake City. James “Jim” Lee Sorenson was born in Lake City, Iowa on July 11, 1948 to Fred and Dora (Garrett) Sorenson. He was a 1966 graduate of Lake City High School and continued his education at Iowa State University earning a degree in Forestry. On June 13, 1999 Jim married Lana (Hanen) Caswell in Lake City. He was a member of Calhoun County Pheasants Forever and ISU Alumni Association. Jim worked as a farmer throughout his lifetime. Jim is survived by his wife Lana of Lake City; children Tracey (Alan) Menninga of Ottumwa and their children Gabrielle, Gatlin, Elijah and Emery, Angie (Todd) Boyse of Wellman and their children Grant and Luke, Scott (Kelly) Sorenson of Antioch, IL and their children Nathan and Emma, Kelly (Brett) Bruggeman of Stillwater, MN and their children Morgan, Ben, Madison and Abby and Kasey Stern of Farnhamville and her children Kennedy and Kaitlyn; brothers Ronald (Shirley) Sorenson of Omaha, NE and Larry (Beverly) Sorenson of Sauk Center, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents.
